To me coaching is so much more than just providing a plan for an athlete to follow. In fact, that’s probably only about 10% of the equation.
The other 90% is made up of all the things that build a strong coach-athlete relationship - trust, communication and reliability. When looking for a coach, you want to be putting your trust into somebody who lives and breathes the very process that you’ll be committing to and somebody that will be with you every step of the way. Somebody that will keep you grounded during the highs and pick you up during the inevitable lows. I believe that the real value of a coach is expressed through the relationship that is built between you and them.
Every great coach has a system - one developed over time, grounded in science and refined through real-world application. As an athlete, it's important to believe in that system and execute your training with intent and consistency. As a coach, it's my job to keep you aligned with the bigger picture and make the training process as seamless as possible, so that you can train with confidence and focus on what matters most outside of running.
My approach to training is simple: nail the basics everyday and be relentlessly consistent. The secret really is that their is no secret, all you have to do is look at the best athletes in the world to confirm this. They just do the right things, over and over again, for long enough to see success. And I wholeheartedly believe that that if you too can commit to the process for long enough, you will achieve whatever it is that you set out to accomplish.
I only work with a limited number of athletes at a time to ensure that I’m able to provide my greatest level of service. If you are interested in working with me, please register your interest by sending me an email and I’ll be in touch once a spot opens up.
